Related Comprehension Questions

The topper is

Answer: A

47. The student who got the least number of marks is

Answer: E

48. The second topper is

Answer: B

49. The student who got the fourth rank is

Answer: D

Solution: Let the topper marks be T and the least mark be L. Let the marks obtained by the five students be A, B, C, D and E.

From points i and ii we know E and D are not toppers.

From points iii and iv we know C and A are not the students who got the least number of marks. Also A > C

Case 1: When A is the topper

A = E+30 and this implies E has the lowest score. Also A-30=C-20 which implies A-C=10

Now assuming C can be the second topper, in this case C=D+20 but C=E+20 which is NOT possible as all scores are distinct.

Hence the second topper can be B. So possible order is A B C D E

Case 2: When B is the topper

B=E+30 and this implies E has the lowest score along with point i). But it is also give A=E+30 which is not possible as all scores are distinct.Hence this case is NOT possible at all.

So the only possible order is A B C D E.
